Does anyone else lump all small orange citrus fruits into one category?

There’s mikans, satsumas, clementines, mandarin oranges, tangerines… but to me, they’re all tangerines. (In English, that is. In German, they’re all Mandarinen to me.)

Does anyone else lump yoghurt and pudding into one category?

For me, they’re essentially the same (sweetened, flavoured, semi-solid dairy dessert). I tend to call them all yoghurts even if they’re pudding.

*g* Yes to the first - sind alles Mandarinen für mich.

No to the second - I think of yoghurt as sour, pudding as sweet.

I do the same with the oranges, but I don't do the same with pudding/yoghurts. I eat greek yoghurt, so there's no way I'd mistake it for a snakpak.

In England pudding is a generic term for the sweet course, so I'd probably call all desserts pudding

possibly, I'm not sure. I'm upper middle class and I don't pay attention to these things ;0)
It's certainly more of a childish term, but if you said pudding to someone in this country they would be waiting to hear what pudding it was (cake, yoghurt, jelly, spotted dick and custard etc) rather than thinking it was a particular product or type of dessert

yes, exactly that. I'm having strawberries, blueberries and strawberry soya yoghurt for pudding tonight, my boyfriend is having either rice pudding or yoghurt, he hasn't decided

yes to both, although chocolate pudding you would probably be thinking it would be a steamed chocolate sponge pudding with custard. Or possibly chocolate Angel Delight at a stretch, which is a mousse made with milk and a powder
